Cloud translation with points
From Chrome extension version 3.3.7, new installations start with six Advanced trial points without signing in. After they are used, the extension switches to Free. Sign in to buy more points or use Advanced website batch translation. Point packs are one-time purchases without a subscription or automatic renewal; review the displayed cost before starting.
Why page access is requested
PanelLingo needs access to the comic images you choose so it can detect text and place translated dialogue on the page. Chrome shows the permission request before installation.
Local and cloud are distinct
Free processes comic images locally. Advanced sends selected translation inputs to PanelLingo's backend and Google AI/OCR services after cloud-processing consent. Read the Privacy Policy for retention details.
What can affect a result
Small, blurred or highly stylized text, busy backgrounds, unusual reading order and lazy-loaded images can affect detection, OCR, translation and layout. Some text may remain unchanged. Protected browser pages cannot be translated, and website compatibility varies. PanelLingo does not bypass paywalls or provide comics.
Compare with the original and use a selected area when a smaller target is more reliable. Use content you have permission to access and process.
